Requirements For An Original Portrait In Pastel.....
A clear photo of your pet, sent via US Mail.  E-mail photos will not be accepted due to overall poor clarity.  The size of your photo should not be less than 4" x 5," unless it is a close-up of your pet.  A 5" x 7" minimum is preferred for details and coloring.  Only one subject per drawing, which will be of your pet only.

I have final approval regarding the quality of the photo you send.  The more detailed the photo, the better the portrait.  If the photo has been taken at a distance with a dark, cloudy sky, it will be rejected.  The photo you send will be drawn as a portrait.  I do not edit, add to or take from a drawing (background will be removed) therefore, please do not request a change in coloring or alterations of the portrait.  All portraits will be drawn on a black background.  I have found this to be the best way to accent a portrait and the colors therein.
You will also need to have your portrait matted, with glass covering it.
The matting will keep the glass from putting pressure on the fibers of the suede, and from rubbing off the color.

Pencil drawing.....
The same as above, with the following exceptions:  I suggest for pencil drawings, the size to be drawn 9" x 12", 11"x 14 or 16" X 20"  A color photo is needed.  I will need to know in advance, if you plan to have the pencil drawing matted, as this will increase the size of the drawing paper, so the mat will fit over the drawing.  If you choose not to mat the pencil drawing, I will not have to reduce the portrait viewing area to allow for a mat.

Estimated cost for your portrait.....
Each portrait will be different, i.e., the detail involved from the pet, as well as the size, etc.
You neeed to discuss the portrait and the planning of it with me, for a firm price, after I have seen the photo you wish me to draw from!
I cannot give a firm price until I have seen the photo.  Pastels take more time, and will depend upon the quality and detailed work involved in the portrait.  Remember, the better the quality in the picture, the better the quality and fine detail work your portrait will have.  I can view your photo on line for an estimate, but I must receive the photograph in the mail, before I will begin drawing.

Please remember, I do not mat or frame drawings.  Your portrait will be detailed, according to the photograph you provide.
