The Harris farm sits on a hilltop in rural Kansas, quietly enjoying the slow pace of the Midwest, three hundred acres of grass and wood lots, prime beef, natural gas production.........and working dogs. Cattle dogs, gun dogs, and the versatile Boerboel. Harris Boerboels was among the first Boerboel breeders in the US and is dedicated to preserving the historic working abilities of the breed. All our dogs are tried and tested at functional farm utility work, we know this definitively provides the evidence of structural soundness and working temperament in our breeding animals. While many may not need this much ability in their own dog, we know it is imperative to continual improvement in selection of breeding stock. We have no kennel dogs, all our Boerboels are working family dogs here at the farm, or were raised and kept in family or farm environments by experienced dog owners whom I have selected and known for years. We do include several top-quality bitches from other kennels into our breeding program to provide a better genetic base and these females are, in my opinion, some of the best in the country. We breed for us first, what we need in a dog is all we breed for. We do not want, or try to provide everybody with a Boerboel; we breed very selectively for the discriminating dog-owner. Our Boerboels are athletic and energetic, with outstanding temperaments and proven reliability. Our Boerboels are excellent for home and personal protection, farm utility and companion animals.
