***As a visitor to this web site we hope that you will take the time to read these words of explanation.

There are some misconceptions about the scope and intent of this web site.  The Kansas Trails Council made what we feel was a wise decision to create a web site that would inform the general public about the the nature and activities of KTC.  We also felt that it was important to inform the public about the trails that KTC members and its volunteers have built and maintained over the last twenty-five years.  There was never any intent for this web site to become some sort of information clearing house for all the trails in Kansas.  No one is paid to maintain this site, and it is supported in part by the annual dues paid by active KTC members.  Therefore we recommend that you contact the specific State Park or trail group for information and maps of those trails that are outside our jurisdiction. [See the accompanying note just below.]

Trail Maps

We hope that visitors to our web site will find these pages useful in planning a trip to one of the lakes and trails listed below.  We have done our best to provide as much information as possible on these pages, but because of limitations on web space and other considerations we can not possibly provide all the detailed information, which you might wish to have.  Therefore, we urge you to visit the Kansas State Parks web site at:

http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/parks/parks.html

This site provides excellent and detailed information about each of the lakes and areas listed below.

You may also wish to contact the trail coordinator for each trail by phone or e-mail and they will be happy to provide you with additional information.  That information is provided on each map page.

****If you regularly visit the trails of Kansas, KTC highly recommends the hiking guide featured on the previous page.  It has a description of all the trails, directions to the trailheads and a detailed map of the area.  It is far more complete than anything that we could possibly display here.  Hit the back button below for detailed information about the Hiking Guide.]
