Thomas Halley born about 1662 in England died when 88 years of age, circa 1750. It is believed he was descended from a near kinsman, probably an uncle, of Sir Edmund Halley, b. 1656, d. 1741, the noted mathematician, and the astronomer who first accurately named the orbit of the comet that bears his name.

Son- James Halley b. June, 14, 1707 in England; d. July 6, 1792 in Fairfax Co. Va. He immigrated to America about the year 1735 and was a prosperous planter of Virginia. James Halley received Patent 690 acres in 1742, 90 acres were added located in Fairfax Parish, Va.  signed by Lord Fairfax.  Plantation was known as "Pleasant Green" located five miles east of Fairfax C.H. near Burks Station.  He married Elizabeth Simpson, daughter of Richard Withers or Winters Simpson. Elizabeth Simpson was born Nov. 8th, 1717, died July, 22, 1785. Their children were:

James Halley II, born Apr. 4, 1737 at "Pleasant Green" Halley Homestead, Fairfax Parish, Va., which is located about five miles east of Fairfax, C.H.  He married in Virginia to Francis Hampton, born May 19, 1737, died Aug. 25, 1827. They were married in 1767.  Their children were:

James Halley III, born ? Fairfax Parish, Va. Henry Halley, born Dec. 14, 1780 Fairfax Parish, Va.

John Halley, born 1774, Fairfax Parish, Va., died about 1838, Montgomery Co., Ky. married to Nancy Douglas, about 1802 in Virginia. Nancy Douglas was born about 1787 and died Sept. 12, 1869 at Perry, Kansas, 82 years old.  Their children were:

The above info. was furnished by Mrs. Sallie Jones Gaddie of Wetmore, Ks. a daughter of Nancy, and Mrs. Kate Stroup of Lewiston, Mo., a daughter of John; and William H. Halley, Levee, Ky. a son of Uriah; and David Hamilton Welch of Rock, Ks., a son of Caroline; all being grandchildren of John Halley and Nancy Douglas Halley.

Caroline Halley, born May 22, 1813, Ky. died Aug. 12, 1883, buried in Douglass, Kansas. Caroline married Robert Yocum Welch, born May 5, 1806; died May 6, 1887, buried in Douglass, Kansas. They were married on Feb. 20,1834, Montgomery Co. Ky. Their children were:

Nancy Jane Welch, born April 7, 1836, died Oct. 20, 1880, married to Claybourn Sugert Widener. No marriage date given. Claybourn Widener was born about 1830, Washington Va., died Feb. 22, 1907. Their children were:

Laura Douglas Widener, born Dec. 28, 1866, died Apr. 10, 1941, buried in Rock Ks. at the Widener Cemetery was married on Dec. 24, 1891 to John Alvin Littell, born Mar. 28, 1853 in Mechanicsburg Beaver County, Pennsylvania, died Dec. 24, 1928 and buried in Rock, Ks. Their children were twins Lagona Fern and Herr Von.

Lagona Fern Littell, b. Feb. 5, 1895, Guthrie/Edmond, Okla., d. June 10, 1977, and is buried in Cherryvale, Kansas Herr Von Littell, b. Feb. 5, 1895, Guthrie/Edmond, Okla.

Lagona Fern Littell, b. Feb. 5, 1895, d. June 10, 1977, married Oct. 27, 1915 to Thomas Christopher Myers, son of Charles R. Myers and Mary Ellen Swantas. Thomas was born Dec. 14, 1892, died Aug 26, 1974 and is buried in Cherryvale Ks. They have one child born to this marriage. They divorced in the 1940's or perhaps 1950's and remarried other spouses, but no children were born of the second marriages.  Later in the 1960's, after the deaths of their respective second spouses, they reunited in marriage and spent their remaining years together. I do have the recorded info. on both these second spouses. 

Glenna Olean Myers, b. Mar. 11, 1919, Rock, Ks. d. July 20, 1991, buried in Thayer, Ks.

Glenna Olean Myers b. Mar. 11, 1919, d. July 20, 1991, married on Aug. 3, 1936 in Detroit, Ks. to Alvah James Bannon, b. Apr. 2, 1916 in Douglass, Ks., d. Aug. 17, 1966 and is buried in Douglass, Ks. Glenna Olean Myers divorced Alvah James Bannon in the 1950's, this marriage providing 3 children. Glenna Olean then married Marcelaus Delevan Gibbs on March 10, 1954 and they spent their remaining years together. Alvah James married Pauline Stevens and they lived together until his death in 1966. Glenna Olean and Alvah James' children together were:

Lois Olean Bannon, b. Apr. 22, 1938, Rock, Ks., d. June 14, 1994, and is buried in Neodesha, Ks. Eldon James Bannon, b. July 4, 1940, Rock, Ks., d. July 3, 1994, Rosehill, Ks., (self-inflicted), buried in Douglass, Ks. 
Robert Dean Bannon, b. Dec. 12, 1941, Rock, Ks. still living

Lois Olean Bannon, b. Apr. 22, 1938, Rock, Ks., d. June 14, 1994, married Robert Jamison about 1954. To this marriage was born two sons.  Lois was separated from Robert when Chris was conceived and born. It was stated several times over the years that he was actually her second husband's child, with her second husband being Ted Ray Failing, b. Aug. 30, 1926 in Las Alimos, Colo., d. Feb. 4, 1980, and is buried in Neodesha, Ks. Lois Olean Bannon and Ted Ray Failing were married in Miami Okla. on Mar. 10, 1961. I do have some of Ted Failings history if anyone is interested in this side. Please feel free to email me. To this marriage was born a daughter.  Lois's children are as follows:

Robert Mark Jamison, b. Oct. 8, 1956, in Winfield, Ks. Sandra Rae Failing, b. Sept. 11, 1961, in Winfield, Ks.
Chris Randall Jamison, b. Apr. 9, 1959, in Winfield, Ks.

I am Sandra Rae Failing, b. Sept. 11, 1961 in Winfield, Ks.  On Nov. 15, 1980 I married Steven Michael Gibson.  To this marriage I had one son Brian. We divorced in 1985.  On April 19, 1986, I married Terry Wayne Swart. Terry Swart was born Oct. 30, 1959 in Stillwater, Okla. to Frank and Annie (Crabtree) Swart.  To this marriage was born one daughter Brandy. These 2 children are as follows:

Brian Michael Gibson, b. June 24, 1982 in Coffeyville, Ks. Brandy Nicole Swart, b. Dec. 13, 1988, in Neodesha, Ks.
